Connect a content block to an Action Plan task so customers can mark a step as completed directly beside the content. The block and its linked task share the same completion status.
For example, link a Files block containing your onboarding guide to a task called Review the onboarding guide. Your customer can read the guide and mark the block as completed without returning to the Action Plan.
How it works
Mark the block as completed, and the linked task is completed too.
Complete the task in the Action Plan, and the block shows as completed.
Reopen the task, and the block returns to its incomplete state.
Completion is a manual action. Opening a file or watching a video does not automatically mark the block as completed.
Connect a block to a task
Start with an Action Plan containing the task you want to connect. The task and block must be in the same Space or template.
Open your Space or template and select the content block.
In the block sidebar, open the Settings tab and turn on Connect block to task under 'Task connection'.
Select the Action plan, then the Milestone, then the Task.
Optionally keep Add "Go to block" button to task selected. This lets customers jump from the task to the linked content via a button on the task (If the task already has a different Quick Action, remove that Quick Action first if you want to add the link back to the block).
What your customer sees
The linked block displays a Mark as completed button. After completion, it shows Completed and a Reopen task option.
Where the linked Action Plan is visible, customers can also use Go to Action Plan to open it. If block navigation is enabled, it indicates which connected blocks are open and which are completed.
Supported blocks and connection rules
Task connections are available for Text / Media & Text, Accordion, Files, Cards and Table blocks.
Each block connects to one task, and each task can connect to only one block.
A task already linked to another block cannot be selected.
A block on a customer-facing page cannot connect to an Action Plan on an internal page.
A hidden task can still be connected and completed from its linked block.
Use task connections in templates
Configure the connection in a template when you want to reuse the setup for new customer Spaces. Completion buttons are disabled in the template preview; complete or reopen the step in a customer Space.
Change or remove a connection
Return to the block’s Settings → Task connection. Select a different Action Plan, milestone or task to change the connection, or turn off Connect block to task to remove it.
