Task comments live in the task details modal and simultaneously in the global sidebar as the task’s dedicated thread. This gives assignees full context while letting stakeholders follow along from anywhere in the Space.
Where task comments appear
Task conversations are visible exactly where work happens and in the sidebar for visibility. Inside the task, add comments alongside description, attachments, and due dates; in the sidebar, the same thread is available so teammates can follow without opening the task.
Start and reply
Starting a task conversation is straightforward. Open the task and add a comment to create the task thread. Reply to continue the discussion; newest messages appear at the bottom, matching how chat reads. Use @mentions to involve subject-matter experts or decision-makers right when you need them.
Who gets notified on task comments
Task threads automatically include the people who need to stay in the loop. The author is subscribed when they comment, task watchers are auto-subscribed and notified of new comments, and anyone you @mention is notified and added as a subscriber. This keeps updates targeted to assignees and reviewers.

Deletion & roles
Task comment permissions mirror general comments for consistency. Owners and Co-Owners can delete task comments; guests/space visitors cannot. If the task is deleted, its comments are removed, keeping the workspace clean and avoiding confusion.
