The Kanban View in your space list gives you a visual overview of your work by grouping Spaces into columns based on internal properties — such as Status or Phase. This makes it easy to manage processes, identify bottlenecks, and update progress with a simple drag-and-drop.
Switching to Kanban View
You can switch to Kanban directly from your space list:
Open the space list.
Click the View switcher in the top-right corner.
Select the desired grouping property from the dropdown.
‼️ Your selection is saved per view. For the Kanban layout to persist save your view by clicking the blue disc icon next to the "Reset" and "Filters" buttons.
Setting Up Grouping Properties
To group Spaces in Kanban, you need a property of type Single-select marked as Internal Property.
Here's how to set one up:
In the Dashboard, go to Assets > Space Properties (requires Admin role).
Click + Create property.
Choose:
Category:
Internal PropertyChoose a Property name
Add your Options (these will be the Kanban columns)
Optionally set a Default value (new spaces will be assigned this automatically)
Save the property.
Once saved, this property will be available in the Group by dropdown in the Kanban view. Spaces with no value for the selected property will appear in the Unassigned column.
How Default Values Work
When setting a default option for an internal property:
New spaces will automatically get that default value assigned.
Existing spaces without a value will remain in “Unassigned” until manually updated.
Spaces with an existing value are not affected when defaults change later.
This helps ensure your Kanban board starts useful from day one — without requiring backfills.
Using the Kanban View
Once your grouping property is selected, your Spaces will be shown as cards in a Kanban board:
Each column represents one value of your grouping property.
Each card shows the space name and any selected columns you’ve enabled in view settings.
You can drag & drop spaces between columns to update their property values.
When you move a card:
The update is applied immediately.
You’ll see the board update optimistically while the change is saved in the background.
Editing Properties in List View
Internal properties can also be edited directly in the List View:
Click into the column cell for the internal property
Select a new value
Kanban view will reflect the change automatically
Internal properties can also be toggled on/off in column settings and re-ordered like standard properties.
Limitations & Considerations
Grouping is limited to one property at a time.
Spaces are loaded in batches — larger boards fetch more items as you scroll.
Kanban grouping is not currently available for auto-calculated fields (like Engagement Score).
💡 Internal properties are not shown during space creation and are not available in content placeholders. They are designed for internal workflows, not customer-facing automation.
Use Cases
Kanban view is particularly useful when:
Tracking deal stages, onboarding phases, or project statuses.
Managing internal processes without needing to open individual spaces.
Creating team-specific views that focus on operational workflows.
