Microsoft Teams Integration

Connect Microsoft Teams to Valuecase and choose which activity notifications you receive.

Written by Jan Niklas Wick

Pre-requisite: The Valuecase app needs to be uploaded to your Microsoft Teams organisation before you can start using it.

If MS Teams is already available in your organisation, skip this step and go directly to the step connect to MS Teams.

Upload the Valuecase integration to MS Teams

In order to enable our MS Teams integration for your organisation, you need to upload a zip folder in the MS Teams apps section. You can download the latest version of the zip file here: valuecase_MS-Teams_1.1.3.zip. Then, proceed as follows:

  1. In your MS Teams open the "Apps" menu.

  2. On the bottom left of the page select "Manage your apps"

  3. Select "Upload an app".

  4. Now, you have two options for uploading the app. Select the option that applies to you and upload the zip file.

    1. If you are an admin, you can upload the app without approval from others.

    2. If you are not an admin, you can submit the app to your IT admin for approval.

💡Tip: If you are not an admin, consider sending an email to your admin in case they have turned off MS Teams notifications about new app requests.

Once the app is published, the Valuecase integration is available for every user in your organisation.

Connect Valuecase to MS Teams

After the MS Teams integration has been enabled for your organisation, every user can add Valuecase to their account in oder to receive notifications. Here's how:

  1. In Valuecase, go to Integrations and click on the connect button or navigate directly to the MS Teams apps section.

  2. In the section "Built for your org", find the Valuecase app and click on "add".

  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to confirm, that you want to add the app.

  4. Lastly, navigate to the new Valuecase tab and select "Connect to Valuecase" to start receiving notifications.

  5. Afterwards, you'll receive the confirmation message "Hi from Valuecase".

Choose which activity notifications you receive

Once Microsoft Teams is connected, you can choose which activity groups you want to receive as direct messages from Valuecase.

  1. In Valuecase, open your user menu and select Connect my tools.

  2. Find Microsoft Teams and click Configure.

  3. Select the activity groups you want to receive and deselect the ones you want to turn off. You can also use Select all or Deselect all.

  4. Click Save to apply your preferences.

The available groups are:

  • Sessions — when a stakeholder starts a visit to your Space.

  • Page view

  • Content & file interactions

  • Action plan updates

  • All comments — task, block and Space comments.

  • AI assistant chats — activity in the AI assistant in your Space.

  • Interactive calculator

  • Buyer notifications

  • Workflows

  • Sharing

  • Form notifications

Sessions is off by default. If you deselect every group and save, you will stop receiving activity notifications in Microsoft Teams while keeping the integration connected.

These preferences apply to your Microsoft Teams notifications. They do not change your colleagues’ preferences, your Slack notification settings, or email notifications.
