Valuecase MCP Server

Connect Valuecase to Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible tools

Written by Jan Niklas Wick

Valuecase can be connected to Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible AI tools. This allows your AI assistant to securely access selected Valuecase data and help with workflows such as reviewing spaces, checking templates, preparing follow-ups, or creating new spaces from templates.

Use this when you want to bring Valuecase context into your AI workflow without switching between tools.

This article explains what the Valuecase MCP server can do, how to connect it, and how to troubleshoot common issues.

What is MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets AI tools connect to external systems in a secure and structured way.

With the Valuecase MCP server, your AI assistant can use selected Valuecase tools on your behalf. Access is only granted after you sign in with your Valuecase account and approve the requested permissions.

What You Can Do with the Valuecase MCP Server

The Valuecase MCP server currently supports two main areas: templates and spaces.

Spaces

Your AI assistant can:

  • Create new spaces from templates

  • Search and filter spaces

  • Review space content incl. task progress and engagement

  • View available space properties

This is useful for customer briefings, follow-up preparation, pipeline reviews, onboarding handovers, or AI-assisted space creation.

Updating or deleting existing spaces is currently blocked for security purposes. We are planning to add this functionality over time.

Templates

Your AI assistant can:

  • List available templates

  • Review the content of a template

  • Check which space properties are required when creating a space from a template

This is useful when you want the assistant to understand which templates exist, what they are used for, or what information is needed before creating a new space.

How to connect

To connect Valuecase through MCP, you need:

  • Admin access in Valuecase

  • An MCP-compatible client, such as Claude or ChatGPT

  • In some tools (e.g., Claude Team or Enterprise workspaces), an owner or admin may need to add the connector before individual users can connect their own Valuecase account.

Connect Valuecase in Claude

  1. Open Claude, go to Settings or Customize, and open Connectors

  2. Add a custom connector

  3. Enter the Valuecase MCP server URL: https://mcp.valuecase.com/mcp, and save the connector

  4. Click Connect and sign in with your Valuecase account

  5. Review the requested permissions and approve access

  6. Enable the Valuecase connector in your Claude conversation. Once connected, Claude can use the approved Valuecase tools in conversations where the connector is enabled.

(optional) After connecting, head over to Customize -> Connectors -> Valuecase to review your default Tool permissions

Connect Valuecase in ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT settings

In ChatGPT, go to Workspace Settings → Apps (or to Settings → Apps to only enable the connector for yourself), and click on Advanced settings and make sure that "Developer mode" is turned on.

  2. Add the Valuecase connector

Click on "Create app", name the app 'Valuecase' and paste the following URL: https://mcp.valuecase.com/mcp

  3. Configure the Valuecase connector

Set 'Authentication' to 'OAuth', open 'Advanced OAuth settings' and set Registration method to 'Dynamic Client Registration (DCR)'. Click Create, then sign in with your Valuecase account and 'allow access'.

  4. Now ask ChatGPT to create a Valuecase Space.

Connect Valuecase in Another MCP-Compatible Client

  1. Use the following server URL: https://mcp.valuecase.com/mcp

  2. If your client asks for a transport type, select: Streamable HTTP

  3. If your client asks for an authentication method, select: OAuth

Do not add access tokens, API keys, or user credentials to the URL.

Example Prompts

Create a customer briefing

“Review my active Valuecase spaces and summarize upcoming due dates, overdue tasks, recent customer activity, and spaces that appear inactive.”

Create a new space

“Create a new Valuecase space for John Doe from ACME using the enterprise onboarding template. First check which properties are required and ask me for anything missing.”

Prepare follow-ups

“Find spaces with overdue customer tasks. Draft a polite follow-up message for each customer and include the relevant Valuecase space link. Do not send the emails.”

Review templates

“List our available Valuecase templates and summarize which use cases each one supports. Highlight templates that are suitable for onboarding, enterprise sales, or renewals.”

Find spaces by owner

“Show me active spaces owned by Sarah that were updated in the last 30 days. Group them by template and include the current status, customer name, and recommended next action.”

💡 Tips for Better Results: When prompting your AI assistant, include as much context as possible. Useful details include: Time range, such as “last 7 days” or “since Monday”, Customer or company name, Template name, Owner, etc
