Set up a custom email sending domain

A custom email domain allows Valuecase notifications to use your company’s branding.

A custom email domain allows Valuecase notifications to use your company’s branding.

Before you begin

Choose a dedicated subdomain, such as notifications.company.com.

The subdomain cannot be the same as your existing Valuecase custom domain. The custom domain uses a CNAME record, while email replies require MX records—and both cannot be configured on the same hostname.

You will also need access to your company’s DNS settings.

Setup process

  1. Customer: Send your chosen subdomain to your Valuecase contact.

  2. Valuecase: Register the subdomain and send you the five required DNS records.

  3. Customer: Add the following records to your DNS configuration:

    • Three TXT records for domain verification, DKIM and DMARC.

    • MX record with name [chosen subdomain], priority 10, pointing to inbound1.sendinblue.com.

    • MX record with name [chosen subdomain], priority 20, pointing to inbound2.sendinblue.com.

Valuecase will provide the exact names and values for the TXT records.

  4. Customer: Notify Valuecase once the DNS records have been added and are active.

  5. Valuecase: Complete remaining setup and activate the custom email domain for your Valuecase account.

  6. Valuecase and customer: Optionally complete an end-to-end test to confirm that:

    • Notifications are sent using the custom domain.

    • Users can reply to notification emails.

    • Email replies appear as comments in Valuecase.
