AI Chat works inside the editor while you build or update a template or space. You describe what you want, and the assistant applies changes directly in the editor so you can review them immediately.
Use prompts (and keep them simple)
You don’t need special commands; imagine you are talking to a junior colleague who should perform actions based on your input. Describe the outcome you want, for example:
“Create a new page called Implementation Plan with a checklist and an action plan.”
“Rewrite this page to be shorter and more direct. Keep the meaning.”
Tip: If you want a specific result, include constraints like tone (“friendly, concise”), structure (“use sections and bullets”), or scope (“only update the ‘Kickoff’ page”, "add a new task ABC to the Action plan on page 'Kickoff').
Follow along, interrupt, and roll back changes
AI Chat works in real time and keeps you in control:
Live updates while it works: You’ll see progress as pages, blocks, or content are created and updated, so you can follow what changed as it happens.
Interrupt and continue anytime: You can interrupt the chat at any point. Some operations can’t be stopped mid-run (for example, if changes are already being applied), so an action may still finish even after an interruption. After that, you can simply continue the conversation and adjust the result.
Undo or restore if needed: If you don’t like the outcome, you can either Undo the most recent AI changes (best for quick corrections) or Restore to a checkpoint to return the space/template to an earlier version by timestamp. During a restore, you’ll briefly see a “Restoring…” state and then a confirmation message once it’s complete.
Use thumbs up / thumbs down on responses to help improve AI Chat over time (important!).
Chat history is saved
AI Chat is stored within the current space or template. If you refresh the page, you’ll see the same chat you had open before.
You can always start a new chat by clicking on "Start New Chat" in the upper right corner. This will delete any prior chat within the current space or template.
